About

A private fund with social commitment

FES was created as a private initiative driven by a group of business leaders committed to Uruguay's social reality. Its founders contribute not only capital, but vision and networks to amplify the impact of every project.

Why we do it

In Uruguay there are people and institutions deeply involved in social issues who cannot carry out their projects due to a lack of funds. We believe in using technology for social benefit and in the ability of local entrepreneurs to drive deep change when they have the necessary resources.

Mission

To encourage a fairer, more inclusive, and more sustainable society and economy.

Goals

  • Generate positive impact by funding social entrepreneurs to make their projects a reality.
  • Improve quality of life, especially for those with fewer opportunities.
  • Encourage relationship-building and collaboration within the solidarity community.

Selection criteria

How we choose projects

To decide which projects to support, we rely on the following eligibility and evaluation criteria.

Impact and transformation

Inclusive and innovative projects that generate deep, measurable social change.

Scalability

Potential to reach a significant population without proportional investment, ideally leveraging technology.

Sustainability

Initiatives that can sustain themselves or with minor support, without depending on constant financial backing.

Execution capacity

Drivers with operational capacity, infrastructure, and real commitment to the problem addressed.

Efficiency

We evaluate cost per beneficiary and efficiency in the use of resources.

Risk and innovation

We take risks with revolutionary ideas, provided they present a studied plan, pilots, or proof of concept.
